Candice and Denny’s winery wedding got every detail right
The thrill of a fast-moving romance is wild and wonderful. For Candice Reale and Denny Andrade, who met online in 2017, their relationship moved at light speed. It escalated from a few introductory messages to a date the following day, to together foreverness just a few days after that. “On our first date, we really knew nothing about each other, and we had so much to talk about,” says Candice. “It was a natural connection we both felt immediately. That date was on a Sunday and lasted into the wee hours of the morning. We had another date the following Tuesday, and we’ve been with each other every day since.”
Three years after their first date—and one adorable toddler son later—Denny proposed to Candice at home during lockdown. “It only made sense that our son Leandro was part of Denny’s proposal,” says Candice with a smile. Denny had matching T-shirts made for himself and Leandro. Denny’s read “Will you marry me?” while Leandro’s read “Will you marry my daddy?” “Having our son included in this moment meant the world to me,” says Candice. “It wasn’t super fancy, but it was absolutely perfect.”
In keeping with the accelerated pace of their relationship, Candice and Denny planned their perfect wedding in just six weeks. “We always wanted an intimate wedding and, with COVID limiting the number of people [we could invite], it worked well for us,” says Candice. “We didn’t want to wait any longer to get married. I was also pregnant with our daughter!”
The couple enlisted the help of wedding planner Khrystyna Moro from Pastiche Events to bring their day to life. Candice and Denny hosted 18 guests on a perfect October day at the Two Sisters Vineyard in Niagara-On-The-Lake.
The couple exchanged their I dos in front of a gorgeous floral and twinkle light installation in a room with their dearest, including little Leandro. Clusters of pillar and table candles artfully scattered throughout the room created a cozy ambiance.
“Walking into our wedding space and seeing it all set—and so beautiful—was an unforgettable moment for both of us,” says Candice. “Our planning was so intense and so quick, it was incredible to see it all come together just as we hoped it would.”
Another sentimental standout of the day was the couple’s first dance to John Legend’s “Conversations In The Dark.” Candice says it was a moment of instant wedding magic. “As soon as we heard the words, we both cried and knew it was the perfect one for our day. Since our son was with us for our vows, it was our time to experience all the emotion and joy of our day.”
Select standouts from Candice and Denny’s big day.
“With an intimate winery wedding, I wanted a classic Gatsby, Deco-inspired look,” Candice says. “My Reformation dress was actually the first one I tried on! It had everything I was looking for: Long sleeves, a slit in the front and it was gathered around my bump. Being six months pregnant and working on a short time frame with our wedding planning, I shopped online for my dress, ordered a few sizes larger than usual and did major alterations leading up to our wedding day.”
“The Barrell Room at Two Sister Vineyards was the perfect space for our very intimate wedding,” says Candice. “ We were able to create a warm and romantic environment with our florals and table settings in an interesting space that we made our own. The food was also out of this world.”
“We always wanted an autumn wedding and October was the perfect month for it,” says Candice. “We chose a rich colour palette of wine tones, blush and greenery to complement the season and create the dream day we envisioned.”
